Privacy policy

The controller of personal data described here is Sayari Software, operating from Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania. Sayari Hosting is the hosting service we provide, not a separate company. “We” means Sayari Software. You can reach us using the details at the end of this page — the same email, phone, and WhatsApp listed in the site footer.

It covers personal data we process when you:

• Browse the marketing site, search a domain, or toggle theme.
• Buy or renew web hosting, a .co.tz or .tz name, business email, or a cloud VPS.
• Commission web design or development, or ask us to migrate a site, mail, and DNS.
• Contact support in Swahili or English, including after hours.

It does not control how a site we host treats itsvisitors. If you run a shop or a trust on our servers, you are the controller for that audience. Mail you store in a mailbox is your content; we access it only to operate, secure, or migrate the service, or where the law requires.

Depending on the service, we may hold:

• Identity and contact: name, organisation, email, phone, WhatsApp number, and a Dar es Salaam or other physical address if you give one.
• Account and billing: plan, invoices, payment references, and limited data from the processor or mobile-money channel you use. We do not store full card PAN on our own forms.
• Domain data: the name you search or register, nameserver settings, and registry/WHOIS fields TZNIC or the relevant registry requires.
• Service data: hostnames, mailbox addresses, VPS identifiers, support tickets, and migration credentials you send us (which we delete when the move is done, unless we must keep a record of the work).
• Technical logs: IP address, browser, approximate region, and timestamps for security, abuse, and uptime.
• Project files: copy, logos, and credentials you supply for design or development.

We do not buy marketing lists. Testimonials currently on the homepage are labelled as placeholders and are not real customer records.

We use personal data to:

• Register domains, provision hosting, mail, and VPS, and complete free migrations you request.
• Take payment, issue invoices, and collect unpaid fees.
• Answer support — including in the hour a site goes down — and to verify that a requester controls the account.
• Keep the platform secure, investigate abuse, and aim for the 99.9% uptime duty described in our terms of service.
• Meet Tanzania law, including tax, communications, and data protection rules, and registry requirements for .tz names.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use your mailbox contents to profile you for advertising.

We share data only as needed to run the service:

• TZNIC and other registries or registrars, for domain registration and WHOIS as their policies require.
• Payment providers and mobile-money operators, to complete a charge you start.
• Infrastructure and email-filtering vendors who process data on our instructions.
• Professional advisers, or a public authority, when Tanzanian law or a competent order requires it.

If a processor is outside Tanzania, we only transfer personal data where the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 allows it — for example with appropriate safeguards or a recognised lawful basis — and only for the purpose of providing the service.

The marketing site stores a theme preference (light or dark) on your device so the next visit matches. Domain search is typed in the browser; we may log the query if you submit it, in order to check availability.

We do not run a third-party advertising pixel on this site. If we later add analytics, we will name the tool here and explain what it sets.

Account and billing records are kept for as long as the account is open and then for as long as tax and commercial law in Tanzania require. Support threads are kept long enough to resolve the issue and to show what we did if a dispute follows.

Closed hosting and mail data is removed from the live platform after a short export window, except copies we must retain for legal holds or security investigations. Registry records follow TZNIC retention, which we do not control.

We use TLS, access control on the panel, and NVMe hosting with tight defaults. No method is perfect. You must protect your passwords and VPS root keys. Tell us promptly if you think an account was used without you.

Under the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, you may request access to personal data we hold about you, correction of inaccuracies, deletion where the law allows, restriction or objection in the cases the Act provides, and information about transfers. You may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Tanzania.

We will need to verify you before we change or release account data. Some records (invoices, registry history, abuse logs) we must keep even if you ask us to delete a marketing contact.

The services are aimed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly open hosting accounts for children. If you believe we have collected data about a child, write to us and we will delete it unless we are required to keep it.

We will update this policy when the services or the law change. The date at the top is the latest version. Material changes will be announced through the account or the contact details we hold where that is practical.
